Person-led Practice

Overview

Person-led Practice is a care approach that puts control in the hands of the person receiving support. It goes beyond considering needs and preferences – it means following their lead. The older person defines what matters, how support should look and the role workers play in their life.

It’s a genuine partnership, grounded in respect, autonomy and trust.

Person-led Practice aligns with the new Aged Care Act and strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards.
