What the workshop covers

During the session, you’ll:

  • Be introduced to the Toolkit

  • Participate in all 11 modules, facilitated by the Toolkit developer

  • Explore how to embed the modules into your internal training

  • Build confidence to run the modules with your own staff

  • Ask questions, share experiences and learn with your peers.

You’ll leave with a clear plan for using the Toolkit in your organisation.

About the Toolkit

The Sensitive Conversations Toolkit is an easy-to-use training resource designed for aged care services. It uses real-world case studies to help staff:

  • Build rapport and trust with older people

  • Navigate sensitive or complex conversations

  • Respond to diverse cultural, spiritual and faith-based needs

  • Apply trauma-aware and healing-informed approaches

It’s designed to support implementation of the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and the Aged Care Statement of Rights, by building workforce capability in culturally responsive communication and recognising the impact of trauma and distressing events on older people.

Who should attend?

This training is for team leaders, coordinators and managers working in CHSP and Support at Home-funded aged care who are responsible for:
