Infection prevention in home care isn’t only a clinical responsibility. Non-clinical team members also play an important role in reducing infection risks during every visit.
This practical one-hour webinar will focus on what non-clinical home care team members need to know to reduce infection risks, protect themselves and the people they support, and respect each person’s home, dignity and choices.

understand their role in preventing the spread of infection
recognise common infection risks in the home
use simple infection prevention practices during every visit
know when to report a concern and who to tell
balance infection prevention with respect for the person’s home, decisions and choices.

Who should attend
This webinar is for non-clinical home care team members working in CHSP and Support at Home-funded aged care, including:
support workers who provide personal care, respite, social support, cleaning assistance, home maintenance and gardening, food services and meal delivery
volunteers who enter people’s homes.
Meet your facilitator
Kathy Kirby is a Registered Nurse with more than 20 years of experience across acute, sub-acute, community and aged care settings. Her background includes clinical care, project management and senior leadership roles.
She is also a Certified Positive Approach to Care Teacher and has extensive experience supporting people living with dementia across the care continuum. This includes developing new programs and implementing contemporary models of care.
Kathy brings practical clinical and leadership experience to her training, with a strong focus on supporting and mentoring people working in health, aged care and community care.
