Q: Can someone access CHSP while waiting for a Support at Home allocation?

A: Yes, an assessment officer can refer a new participant to CHSP as an interim measure while they wait for their Support at Home allocation.

In some cases, CHSP can also provide extra services to people already receiving Support at Home.

There are 5 situations where this is allowed:

  1. Social support groups – if the person was already attending a CHSP-funded group

  2. Hoarding and squalor support

  3. Respite care – including cottage, centre-based, community and flexible respite

  4. Emergency access – short-term urgent

  5. Specialised support services – such as vision advisory services
